Yoga means integration and harmony in the body, mind and spirit which leads us to meditation. The entire process of meditation becomes easier with practice of yoga as a physical and mental preparation for meditation. The practice of yoga (breathing exercises, yoga postures and deep relaxation) relax the body and mind to help a person to enter into meditation. During this three hour workshop on Yoga and Meditation the Yogacharya Devaprasad Swami will lead the participants into serenity, peace and the fullness of joy that arises when perfect equilibrium among one’s body, mind and spirit get established. The process of meditation is a pilgrimage from the outer layer of consciousness to the inner layer (Taittiriya Upanisad). To reach in the inner layer of consciousness or to experience meditation in its fullness the meditator may follow these five steps: Listening (sravanam), pondering/reflecting or contemplating (mananam), practice/discipline (sadhana), meditating (nididhyasana) and finally leading to an experience of spiritual bliss (Anubhava).
